Alexander Burstein -- Personal

I was born in Moscow, Russia, and grew up in Kiev, Ukraine. In the United States, this is my second time living around Washington, DC; apart from that, I mostly lived in Philadelphia, PA, where I studied at the University of Pennsylvania, and in Ames, Iowa, where I worked at Iowa State University. In my spare time, I enjoy listening to and playing classical guitar. Suffice it to say that I'm much better at listening. I also like chess, but the only chess variant where I had any success at all is suicide chess.
